About

Dr. Ali Zavabeti is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, specializing in Process Optimisation. Alongside his teaching responsibilities, he supervises PhD students, guiding them on various multidisciplinary topics. Ali's primary research revolves around sustainable, electrical and chemical engineering topics.
Prior to his research career, Ali accumulated seven years of experience as an Automation Engineer at ABB Australia's Process Automation Division. During this time, he offered process automation solutions across multiple industries in Australia, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Pulp & Paper, and Utilities. His extensive industrial background enriches his understanding of practical applications and strengthens his ability to bridge the gap between theory and real-world implementation.
