Brett is an award-winning journalist and presenter at the Nine Network who’s covered many of the biggest stories in Australia and overseas.
Graduating from RMIT, Brett started in the 3AW newsroom, later News Director then Drive program host.
Moving into television in 2000 he became Nine’s Europe and Middle East correspondent. He reported from Baghdad during the US invasion of Iraq, came under fire while on air during the 2010 Red Shirt protests in Bangkok, and was one of the first Australian journalists into Aceh after the 2004 tsunami. He’s also filed from conflict zones including Afghanistan, Beirut and East Timor.
In 2021 Brett returned to Nine’s London Bureau, covering events such as the death of Queen Elizabeth and the Ukraine war.
Brett is also an Ambassador for Prostate Cancer Research Australia and a Fellow of the Dart Foundation.
