Janet Fulton is an academic and researcher in Communication and Media and an Adjunct Associate Professor at RMIT.
Janet's research and teaching sits at the nexus of creativity and cultural production, journalism, journalism education, media entrepreneurship, creative industries and work-integrated learning.
Janet has published extensively in these areas and her research has led to several books including The Creative System in Action: Understanding Cultural Practice and Production (2016) and Educating for Creativity within Higher Education (2018). Her latest book, in collaboration with colleagues and due to be published in early 2023, is Creative Industries Entrepreneurship: How Innovative Agents, Skills and Networks Interact.
Janet is active in the journalism academy as the Treasurer of the Journalism Education and Research Association of Australia (JERAA). She is currently working as an independent researcher for several Australian universities on projects such as diversity, reportage, trust in the news, rural news framing and media guidelines.
