Hacer Group launch RMIT scholarship to empower the next generation of Women in Construction.
Melbourne, 18 July 2019 – A new annual scholarship, The Hacer Group Award (Women in Construction) has been established by leading construction firm, Hacer Group and RMIT University to help promote and attract females in the Construction Industry. The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student that identifies as female in their final year of study, providing them with $5,000 for one semester and a guaranteed position at Hacer Group Pty Ltd in their industry-leading Graduate Program upon finishing their degree.
Hacer Group is adamant to shatter the stigma that surrounds women in the construction industry, whilst also offering a more inclusive experience for women in the office and on building sites, by focusing on women entering the industry straight out of university.

We want to see our industry supporting women in construction and benefitting from a stronger contingent of female talent. Unlike other industries, the percentage of females in the construction industry is dropping, recent studies show the number of women in the industry has dropped from 17% in 2006 down to 12% in 2016. The Hacer Group graduate program is established to combat these statistics by helping woman find their feet in the industry and help them stand tall.
Applications are now open for students enrolled full-time and part-time in their final semester of one of the following programs in semester 2 2019 at RMIT:
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) (Honours) (BH114)
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Project Management) (Honours) (BH112)
- Master of Project Management (MC210)
- Master of Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building (MC209)
