This project delivered a peer review of the spreadsheet versions of the Green Home (green savings) calculator tool developed for Victoria and Queensland.
The project included a review of the appropriateness of the assumptions made by the tool developer. The calculator is now in use both as a web tool and iPhone app. The calculator allows families and home buyers to calculate the carbon, water and money savings available by using sustainable products and initiatives in a new home. The tool has been nominated in the Australian Innovation Challenge for excellence in the fields of science, engineering and technology for its rigour in calculation methodology and superior delivery of information.
