After you apply

Waiting for your application outcome

Once you have submitted your application to RMIT, the team will start assessing the application. To ensure your application is assessed as soon as possible, make sure you have provided all of the required information.

Common things that cause delays

  1. Your personal details in your application must match the information on your documents. E.g. Identification, academic, employment and immigration records.
  2. Upload the relevant documents in the correct format. This is specified in each section of the portal as you complete your application.
  3. Ensure your documents do not exceed the maximum file size of 20MB.
  4. If you're providing website links, please make sure they are working.
  5. Incomplete documentation, detailed below.

Required documentation

Ensure the following applicable documents are uploaded with your application.

When uploading your documents, if the document name appears under the 'My Document List' heading in the application portal, it has successfully uploaded.

Certified academic transcripts, also known as mark sheets, and award certificates (if applicable) must be provided in both native language and English translated version.

In some circumstances, you may not have the results of your most recent studies, however, you must provide evidence of your enrolment (for example, a letter or enrolment statement). You will also need to include the start and expected completion date of the course on your application form.

Syllabus/course outline if you are applying for credits (RMIT students will not be required to provide course syllabus), your course syllabus must detail the following:

  • volume of learning: contact hours per week and total number of teaching weeks
  • learning objectives/outcomes (skills, knowledge and application)
  • course content and weekly topics
  • assessment types and their weightings
  • reference to the learning resources such as prescribed textbooks and recommended readings

Selection tasks (also known as selection requirements) are tasks that you are required to do in addition to your application for some RMIT programs.

Please refer to the program summary page to find out if selection tasks are applicable to the course you're applying for.

Provide your visa documentation with your application.

This is applicable to you if you have been granted or refused a visa to Australia or other countries. You can attach a copy of your visa granted letter, a sticker in their passport or a visa refusal/cancellation letter from Australia or other countries.

In some circumstances, you may not have the results of your most recent test available.

RMIT recognises a range of English Proficiency tests and qualifications. For more information on our recognised tests, visit English requirements.

If you have identification documents or a passport available, include these in your application.

You must provide a brief curriculum vitae (CV), also called resume or statement of activity, if you have a study gap of more than 12 months.
