Professor On Kit Tam

Professor On Kit Tam is Professor of Finance at RMIT University and Vice President of the Australia China Business Council Victoria

Professor Tam was previously Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Business International at RMIT, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University.

He has worked in the Australian Federal Government’s Department of Treasury, University of New South Wales, Monash University, and Phillips Hong Kong. He has held visiting/adjunct positions with many top universities around the world. He has served as PhD lead supervisor at UNSW, ANU, Monash, and RMIT with several graduates winning University and Faculty research excellence awards.

Professor Tam has published extensively on corporate governance, China’s economic and financial reform, foreign investment, and capital market development. His research has won significant grants and awards.

  Professor Tam has been consultant and adviser for multiple major international organisations and corporations. He has served as an independent director of a fund management company in China set up by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and a director of the board of Royal District Nursing Services.
