About

Dr Ruby Fan is a Vice-Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. Her research explores how accounting and finance support the transition to a low-carbon economy through enhanced climate-related financial disclosure and sustainable business practices. She focuses on carbon and water-related disclosure, assurance, management, and risk, aiming to strengthen transparency, accountability, and long-term value creation in sustainability practice. Her work has been published in top-tier journals and cited in EU policy documents. Ruby collaborates with industry to support the adoption of mandatory disclosure frameworks and applies data science to advance interdisciplinary, policy-relevant research. She also serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for journals and conferences like the British Accounting Review, Accounting and Finance, Australian Journal of Management, and AFAANZ.
