The Online Graduate Certificate in People Analytics consists of 4 core courses and has everything you need to succeed in a HR people analytics role. It also provides you with a pathway to continue studying towards the online Master of Business Administration or credit into the online Master of Human Resource Management.

RMIT's online Graduate Certificate does not meet Australian student visa requirements. For an Australian student visa, you must have an on-campus place in a program of study.

You’ll apply predictive models to identify trends and patterns in HR data, such as predictors of high performance, staff retention and employee behaviour. You’ll learn how the latest technologies such as AI and machine learning can be used in HR. You'll also build a professional tool kit with strong analytic capabilities and a solid understanding of how technology can improve HR outcomes globally.

A focused and practical approach allows you to apply new knowledge to your work from day one, fast-tracking your learning and graduation.

You can view online resources and learning activities, access course materials via Canvas, collaborate with lecturers and fellow students, and access your student email account anywhere, anytime.

Our online learning platform is purpose-built and brings authenticity to your learning experience, available using your laptop, tablet or smartphone. Coursework is delivered in an engaging way and easy to follow.

Assessment is ongoing throughout the teaching period and includes essays, reports, presentations, case studies, quizzes and research projects.

4 courses | 8 months part-time.

Each course is 7 weeks in duration.

You will learn how to: 

  • Analyse the role that people analytics can play in transforming how people are managed in organisations
  • Critically evaluate the effectiveness of business and people analytics methods in real-world scenarios to inform effective decision making, and how to communicate it
  • Apply broad knowledge of analytical processes to implement people analytics in practices
  • Analyse key differences in HR data and associated information systems to support HRM, strategic management solutions, decision making processes and people management options
  • Evaluate how people analytics can be used to represent people in work-related learning in diverse organisational contexts.

  • Predictive Human Resource Analytics
  • Professional HRM Practices.

Career

Upon finishing the Online Graduate Certificate of People Analytics you’ll be equipped to thrive in a variety of HR people analytics roles including HR analyst, remuneration analyst, HR reporting manager, remuneration manager and chief of staff.

Entry requirements and admissions

An Australian bachelor’s degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in Business, Commerce, Human Resource Management, Data Analytics or a related field or higher level of qualification.

If you do not meet the above entry requirement for the Graduate Certificate, you may be considered if you have a minimum of five years full-time equivalent work experience in Business, Commerce, Human Resource Management, Data Analytics, or a related field. Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).

Pathways

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in People Analytics, you may pursue further study through a pathway to RMIT Online's Master of Business Administration (MBA) or credit into the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM).

If you choose to continue studying towards RMIT Online’s MBA, you can specialise or select individual courses based on your career goals and aspirations with six future-focused and on-trend specialisations.

Completion of an additional 8–12 courses at a master degree level affords you both graduate certificate and master’s qualifications.

2025 tuition fees:

  • AU$4,800 per course
  • Total AU$19,200 for four subjects.

Fees apply to 2025 only.

Fees are adjusted on an annual basis and these fees should only be used as a guide.

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF) based on your enrolment load, which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student. Eligible local students can apply for an SA-HELP loan to defer payment of their SSAF.

Some students may be eligible to apply to defer payment of some or all of their tuition fees via the Commonwealth Government’s FEE-HELP loan scheme.

Student services and amenities fee (SSAF)

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student.

The SSAF is calculated based on your enrolment load and the maximum fee for 2025 is $365.
