The Diploma of Social Media Marketing gives you the tools to design and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to deliver results for entrepreneurs, businesses and global organisations.
Delivered through teacher-led face-to-face classes in the Melbourne CBD, the Diploma of Social Media Marketing is heavily focussed on industry best practice, and hands-on learning. You will learn through a variety of approaches, including simulated activities, case studies, discussion boards, research, and more. As part of your study, you will work within The Agency, an industry-simulated environment designed to give you practical experience prior to course completion. You will also respond to a real client brief and develop a social media marketing strategy to suit, giving you a taste of life as a social media manager in practice.
Assessment in this course will depend on course requirements and outcomes, and may take the form of work-simulated projects, delivery of and responses to presentations, practical demonstrations, and group and individual work.
The types of classes you have will depend on the course you’re studying. Classes are offered in various formats designed to provide meaningful engagement with staff, industry and peers and provide for access and use of spaces where learning can be applied and active, including an array of specialised equipment.
Most RMIT courses do not include passive large-scale classes such as lectures, instead the content traditionally provided in lectures is made available online. This may be in the form of readings, videos or other on-demand learning materials. This content will also support the basis of interactive learning that takes place in on-campus classes.

In addition to tuition fees, you will be charged an annual student services and amenities fee (SSAF), which is used to maintain and enhance services and amenities that improve your experience as an RMIT student.
The SSAF is calculated based on your enrolment load and the maximum fee for 2025 is $365.
