The Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) contracted RMIT to undertake research to rank the OFSC’s 19 targeted high risk hazards in order to prioritise its approach to these hazards, and to review the associated audit criteria to identify any changes that may be required.
This research project involved reviewing publicly available injury and incident data collected from both national and international sources and undertaking consultations with a cross section of Australian contractors (most of which represented companies that are accredited under the Scheme), and Federal Safety Officers.
