About

Qin is a lecturer in Economics at the School of Economics, Finance, and Marketing. She specialises in experimental and behavioural economics, focusing on effective deterrence of cheating and collusion in contests, cooperative and competitive behaviour in organisations, the impact of price competition on retail inventory decisions, and the role of information ignorance on reciprocal behaviour. 
In her teaching, Qin emphasises real-world applications, ensuring that economic theories are relevant to everyday life. She applies these theoreis to help students understand human behaviour and decision-making. Her practical approach ensures that Economics is accessible and engaging.
Qin actively build partnerships with industry experts to enhance her courses, workshops, and outreach events. She also conducts behavioural economics research to help industry and government address key challenges. Her collaborations with organisations such as the Victoria Behavioural Insights Unit, Australian Red Cross, and ASIC enrich her teaching and contribute to the practical relevance of her research.

Teaching interests

Qin Wu coordinates and lectures the capstone course, Behavioural Economics. She has also taught courses such as Understanding Business Environment and Macroeconomics for Decision Making. As a core member of the Behavioural Business Lab research group, she focuses on applying economic theories to real-world situations, making Economics relevant and engaging for her students.

Qin fosters critical thinking and active participation in her courses by incorporating guest lecturers and industry-based assessments. This approach bridges the gap between academic learning and practical application. Committed to her students' academic and professional growth, Qin provides comprehensive support and resources, guiding them to apply economic principles to global challenges and explore career paths in behavioural economics.
