Ryan Turner is a research assistant at the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University, primarily affiliated with the 'Regenerative Environments and Climate Action' theme. He performs spatial analysis to develop spatial indicators and digital interactive tools for planning climate resilient and sustainable cities using various remote sensing and geospatial technologies. His research interests include climate disaster and extreme weather events resilience, with a focus on flooding disasters. Complementary to this are planning for healthy and sustainable cities through spatial indicators that address urban green space, urban heat vulnerability, air quality, and active travel. He advocates for the open-science movement and delivers accessible outcomes at both the local and global scale.
He holds a Master of Geospatial Science with Distinction (2023) from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Architectural Design (2020) from the University of Queensland.
