About

Dr Julia Hill brings nearly two decades of teaching and research experience to her role as a Lecturer in Primary Mathematics and Numeracy Education at RMIT.  Drawing on her background spanning cognitive psychology, educational psychology, and STEM education, Dr. Hill's work bridges the intersection of values, positive psychology, and STEM. Her doctoral work developed the first conceptual frameworks for student wellbeing in mathematics and science education.

Dr. Hill's current research focuses on understanding and supporting student and teacher wellbeing in mathematics and science education. She integrates these insights into her pre-service teacher education, equipping future teachers with practical strategies for maintaining their wellbeing and building resilience throughout their careers. Dr. Hill brings this enthusiasm to her teaching and works with practising educators to create positive, engaging learning environments that support both teachers and students to thrive in STEM subjects.
