About

David is an Associate Professor at the School of Management, RMIT University, Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Management Science and Engineering (BMSE), a Master and PhD in Management from Massey University, New Zealand. His primary research interests are digital technology innovation and international business. He has published over 60 refereed academic outputs, among which over 30 research articles have appeared in ABDC A*/A-ranked leading or SSCI  journals with a high ISI impact factor. His research articles appear in leading journals such as International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Business Research, International Business Review, Journal of Travel Research, Family Business Review and Long Range Planning.


David serves as a member of the editorial review board of several leading international journals, such as Journal of Business Research, Research Technology Management, and Journal of Global Information Management. He frequently serves as a special issue editor of academic journals. He served as associate editor for international journals, track chair, e.g., Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (2022 and 2023 ANZAM), and session chair and invited speaker at international conferences. David has been invited and currently serves as an Ad Hoc reviewer for a wide range of leading ABDC A*/A-ranked international journals. Prior to joining RMIT, David was a Senior Associate Professor of International Business at XJTLU University. He was a Founder and Director of the AI & Digital Business Research Group for Massey Business School and served as Senior Lecturer in International Business at Massey University in New Zealand, from 2012 to 2024.


David holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning (PGCertTTL) from the Institute of Education, Massey University, New Zealand, and a Fellowship (FHEA, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK). He has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various teaching delivery modes, e.g., about International Business; Growing Multinational Enterprises; International Operational Management; International Supply Chain Management; Managing Organisations; Innovation and New Ventures; Technology Governance and Risk Management; Business Ethics. He is actively involved in graduate-level supervision, including Masters and PhD supervision, and has supervised more than 17 postgraduate students, including research Masters students and PhD candidates to successful completion.


David served on several school and college committees during his career, e.g., College Research Committee [2024]; IB specialization lead for the MMgt program advisory group at Massey Business School (MBS) [2021- 2023]; School Committee member for the Teaching and Learning Committee [2014]; College Staff-Student Liaison Committee (SSLC) [2019 - 2023]. He was an active champion of MBS, looking after the international program for MBS at Massey University. David served as a guest researcher at the research centers of two international universities.
