About

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering Department at RMIT University. I joined RMIT in January 2021 as a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. Prior to that, I was a tenured Associate Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China).

I received my Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2005 and have over 15 years of research experience in biomaterials and tissue engineering. Before my tenure at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I completed postdoctoral research fellowships at Monash University (Australia) and INSERM (France).

During my 10 years at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I made significant contributions to research and teaching in biomaterials and tissue engineering. My research achievements include over 119 peer-reviewed publications, 8 patents (5 granted), and securing approximately 11 major research grants.
