Belinda Davis is a dedicated but new academic with a strong background in nursing education and clinical research. She holds a Master of Nursing with a focus on Emergency Care and Research from La Trobe University, where she conducted a thesis titled “Are paediatric urine samples a wasted diagnostic test? An investigation into rates of Urinary Tract Infections in paediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department with fever.” This research reflects her commitment to improving diagnostic practices and patient care in emergency settings.
With over 25 years of experience in various nursing roles, including Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Research, and Emergency Nursing, Belinda has developed a comprehensive understanding of clinical practices. Her role as a Nurse Educator at Alfred Health involved delivering tutorials and bedside education, while her position as a Sessional Teacher at RMIT allowed her to impart knowledge to undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing students through both online and face-to-face formats.
Belinda's research experience is further highlighted by her role as a Clinical Trial Coordinator at the Eastern Clinical Research Unit, where she coordinated haematology trial protocols and collaborated with pharmaceutical and hospital stakeholders. Her involvement in the CT NUTS, CTPA project at Eastern Health demonstrates her ability to conduct literature reviews, identify best practices, and contribute to reducing unnecessary testing in emergency departments.
Currently serving as a Lecturer in Nursing ECDF at RMIT, Belinda continues to leverage her extensive clinical knowledge and research skills to educate future healthcare professionals. Her academic journey and research contributions reflect a commitment to advancing nursing education and improving patient outcomes.
