The PhD project will investigate gender equality, diversity and inclusion in science using the Centre of Excellence as a case study. The broad aim of the project is to better understand barriers to recruitment and retention of women and people from other underrepresented groups in STEM. This may include investigating, for example the cultural, structural or systemic factors involved, and / or interventions aimed at addressing these. You will be encouraged to shape the eventual form of the project based on your own research interests and areas of expertise, in consultation with the supervisory team.
The successful candidate will be located in RMIT’s School of Education alongside another COMBS PhD candidate working on a related, educational pathways project. As a member of the COMBS Centre of Excellence, the successful applicant will also be part of dynamic, national network of collaborating universities and industry partners, offering ample opportunities for national / international collaborations and various research dissemination and publishing opportunities.
