PhD Scholarship in Resource recovery from organic waste through co-digestion and thermal treatments

The project envisage maximising resource recovery from a range of organic streams via co-digestion and thermal treatment. The project will explore different integration options of anaerobic digestion and thermal treatment to synthesis value-added materials while addressing limitations regarding contaminants.

Sustainable management of organic wastes is critical for greenhouse gas emissions reduction and circular resource recovery. Organics management via biological and thermal treatment can offer intensive approach to maximise resource recovery and minimise contaminants transfer into the environment. This project will involve a literature review followed by experiments and modelling closely working with multidisciplinary team.
