Dr Hardik Bhimani is a behavioural scientist. He is curious about the human side of management, and brings a unique blend of expertise in leadership development, responsible practice, and open innovation. His research activities target the future of work and innovative behaviour, enabling leaders to make better decisions and achieve sustainability impact through behavioural insights.
Dr Bhimani is the Program Manager (Major Disciple Coordinator) for RMIT's Leadership and Strategy major, where he leads the development of future focused, industry-engaged and career-ready undergraduate degree courses. He is also the Lecturer (tenured) in Leadership and Management at the School of Management, and the current President of RMIT's Technology and Entrepreneurship Club. In 2025, Dr Bhimani was elected to the College of Business and Law Research Committee where promotes, communicates and supports development of operational processes and guideliness to enhance College's research performance, quality and impact.
Previously, Dr Bhimani held the prestigious RMIT Vice-Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellowship in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (2022-2024), during which he founded and lead RMIT's Gamified Translation Network and the Behavioural Innovation Research and Design Society.
Dr Bhimani's work is recognised through the honour of Best PhD project award (RADMA, UK), Best Paper award at World Open Innovation Conference (WOIC, U. of Berkeley), and the ECR Research Excellence Award (RMIT). He is involved in several cross-border research projects, has received over A$115,000 in funding to support research activities, and has delivered invited presentations on Behavioural Innovation Research and Methods to a global audience of leaders and academics at leading conferences and international universities.
Dr Bhimani holds a PhD in Management (RMIT, Australia), First Class Honours (eq.) degree in Psychology (U. of Adelaide, Australia), and an APAC 3-year degree in Psychology (Monash, Australia). He is also an Affiliate of the Australian Psychological Society (College of Organisational Psychologists and Educational and Developmental Psychologists).
Dr Bhimani's teaching philosophy is based on play pedagogy aimed at crafting memorable learning moments. This is reflected in frequent positive student feedback, high teaching evaluations and good teaching awards.
