Danielle Baxter is a registered osteopath who has worked in private practice since 2012. Danielle has also worked at RMIT University as an academic in the osteopathy department since 2014. In 2017 she received awards for high CES scores in two courses she coordinates,, and in 2023 all three courses that she coordinated were ranked in the top 5 highest scoring courses for overall satisfaction (OSI) in the School of Health and Biomedical Sciences. In 2020, Danielle delivered a presentation at the SEH showcase titled 'Overcoming online delivery challenges during the current crisis.' The presentation detailed the osteopathy department innovation of deliverying live-streamed practical classes for osteopathy students during Covid.
Danielle completed her PhD in 2022 which evaluated the feasibility of adjunctive manual therapy for COPD in a hospital setting. Danielle's research interests include the non-pharmacological management of chronic diseases, the role and scope of osteopathy in the management of older people in various settings, and also clinical education.
Danielle has extensive experience in accreditation of osteopathy programs, having been a member of the Australian Osteopathic Accreditation Council.(AOAC) since 2017; and was Deputy Chair in 2022 and Chair in 2023. She is a current Board Director for AOAC and Chairs the newly formed Professional Practice Committee (PPC) which oversees accreditation of osteopathy programs and qualifications and skills assessment of overseas trained osteopaths applying to register in Australia.
Danielle's research interests include the non-pharmacological management of chronic diseases, the role and scope of osteopathy in the management of older people in various settings, and also clinical education and interprofessioanl education.
