Tim Pfitzner is an Associate Lecturer in Finance at RMIT University. He is also the Manager of the RMIT Trading Facility in Melbourne. He has worked as an Industry Fellow with Monash University from 2017 Until 2021 and as a corporate and professional education consultant with Macquarie University in 2020 and 2021.
Mr Pfitzner has 30 years of experience working in the banking and finance industry as an economist, financial markets trader, project manager, and credit risk executive. He has led financial markets dealing room teams, developed and simplified credit policy, managed credit portfolios across Financial Institution segments, developed tailored and innovative solutions for banking technology, developed innovative financial market products, and developed a start-up financial business in the US from within a larger financial institution.
His areas of interest are financial markets, banking, and risk management. Through his work, he aims to explore and understand the impact of gamification and financial market laboratory simulations on pedagogic outcomes.
