Cooperative Research Centre for Advanced Composite Structures:
- Post-fire mechanical response of fibre-reinforced composites (in conjunction with a grant from the Office of Naval Research, U.S.A);
- Durability of fibre-reinforced composites exposed to seawater environments (in conjunction with the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Australia)

Cooperative Research Centre for Polymers
- $674k contract with Huntsman Chemical Company to evaluate polymer concrete as a potential rooftile material.
- $126k contract with Olex Cables to produce halogen-free insulating plastics.
- $1.1m contract with Aurora Glass and Huntsman Chemical Co to improve the longevity of glass-reinforced plastic roofsheeting.
